BeatNik Busking

Every Tuesday

If you like Simon and Garfunkel; if you’ve heard of John Martyn; if you’ve found yourself tapping your foot to Mumford and Sons or Fleet Foxes; the dimness departing to the sound of Bright Eyes or your smile spreading when a Nick Drake record comes on, then this is for you. With open mic slots and a featured artist at each event, this is the best blues/folk busking jam that Brick Lane has seen.

Open mic from 7-11pm, with our featured act/s 9-10pm. Come down and try out your latest tunes, jam with fellow musicians, and meet the Beatnik Events team to get spotted for larger events. A beer/wine for everyone that plays. To book a slot, contact @BeatnikEvents

MIRI with support from Bee Bakare, TYKE & Jake Watson

Wednesday 1st June

Join us for some live music from MIRI with support from Bee Bakare, TYKE & Jake Watson. British Singer/Songwriter MIRI, grew up listening to an eclectic range of music which has contributed to her soulful pop sound, blending silky soft and gritty vocals with thought provoking lyrics. MIRI has received radio airplay on BBC London and has performed around the UK, Ireland and Europe. Bee Bakare is a Singer/Songwriter with influences from Lauryn Hill, Gabrielle and Emeli Sande. TYKE is a debut acoustic performance from a new London based act. Finally, placed into 'The Independent Music Reviews' top 50 folk acts, Jake Watson has gained positive reviews for his music. Labelled as 'Swamp-Blues', Watson's music has been said to 'transport you to a far off land where neo-folk and blues is a staple diet'.

Listen Up For Stroke, June

Listen Up For Stroke is a monthly fundraiser for The Stroke Association showcasing the best upcoming artists from in and around London, whilst raising money and awareness for a great cause!

We have kindly agreed to donate a percentage of the bar takings towards the charity whilst all the acts are playing for free out of the kindness of their hearts so please drink up and have fun whilst helping to raise as much as we can for this cause. Live performances on the night by: High Fever, Jarps, Julian Lebender, Ernie Jackson and Easymess.

Wednesday 8th June

Join us for live music with Guise with support from Robynne Alethea, Amii Dawes & Pyramid Youth. Guise are a confessional-folk-pop three piece band, formed in 2015 by singer songwriter Jessica Guise, bassist Titas Halder and vocalist Laura Hanna. A sound incorporating close vocal harmonies and rich harmonics drawn from influences from Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks and Dar Williams.

London has an abundance of inspiring female artists - this is the place to hear the music, and be part of the conversation. Network, share ideas, inspire, and celebrate.

For this event, live music by Laura Maidment, Lia Alba Ikkos-Serrano, Faith Taylor and Lauren Rich, and enjoy selected cocktail specials for £6 all night.

King Compass with support from IzzIe Yardley

Wednesday 22nd June

Join us for some live music from King Compass with support from IzzIe Yardley. Starting out as an accompanying band to lead singer Matt Wright’s solo song-writing project, King Compass formed after the group met at university, drawn to each other’s creative innovation. With the strongest influences being between Soul and Folk, the group’s mesh of playing styles work together to create a unique and hypnotic sound. More acts TBA.

Connor Roff with support

Thursday 23rd June

Join us for some live music with Connor Roff with supporting acts. Canadian and British born Connor Roff blurs the lines between indie folk and pop. Fascinated by music since a young age, Roff would flick through his parent’s old records listening to anything from rock n’ roll such as The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac to classical music such as Pavarotti, Beethoven and Mozart. Clash music recently premiered his latest single and video Chasing Dreams, calling it “an engrossing return from a rare talent. Flexible, fragile and breezy.” Several radio stations have already played songs off his new EP including BBC Introducing London, Spire Radio Chesterfield and Wire Radio Bristol. More acts TBA.

The Songwriter's Guild

Join us for a night of live music with a twist. Four up and coming songsmiths will exchange tunes and discuss their craft, dissecting their compositions and sharing the stories behind them. We have assembled a really exciting line up, so come down, enjoy a cocktail and amazing music from: Jade Bird / Gabriela Eva / Ana Arts / Sasha.

Hockers with support from Jamie Roche

Thursday 30th June

Join us for a night of live music with Hockers with support from Jamie Roche. Hockers is based in London, gigging all around UK, both performing up close and personal acoustic gigs and larger band gigs. He continues to be inspired by the colourful and thriving arts and music community around him. Originally from South Korea, Hockers is an acoustic singer-songwriter and guitarist, and has been described as having an eclectic style that blends soul, jazz, pop and soft rock with a powerful and emotive voice. We are a neighbourhood cocktail bar serving up well-crafted drinks, whilst introducing colourful flavours and ingredients. Our music programme is eclectic and lively, spinning everything from motown, soul, funk, old school hip hop and beats at the weekends and during the week, live acoustic sessions.
